In 1981 Angela & Sandy McKinnon took over the bakery in Abernethy. Tower Bakery is named after the round Tower, which dominates the village, a former Pictisch capital in the 11th century. In 1999 the business expanded into a new Bakery in Perth giving the opportunity to expand the number of lines produced for an ever-growing customer base. Tower Bakery now has 10 retail shops in Perthshire and is currently celebrating 25 years in business this year.
